In the heart of Wingham, Isabella Street cuts through Central Park, an English-inspired square alive with local culture. Historic treasures abound, from the Victorian School of Arts—now a vibrant council hub—to the 1884 Post Office, a proud emblem of craftsmanship.

Farquhar Street showcases heritage, featuring the Georgian Revival-style Courthouse and the Federation police station from 1909, alongside the Catholic Presbytery and St. Joseph’s Catholic School. The old Gibson and Skinner Butchery, established in 1911, adds a nostalgic touch, while Bent Street buzzes with life, home to the beloved Top Pub and local shops.

Central Park is a canvas of memories, anchored by “The Log,” a monumental timber relic celebrating Wingham’s history. Children’s laughter fills the air, mingling with echoes of cricket matches played on the park’s pitch, once graced by Phil Tufnell

The Manning River flows alongside Wingham, a pristine waterway free from dams. Starting in the Barrington Tops, it winds through rural landscapes and connects with Tinonee, inviting locals and visitors to fish, kayak, and explore its serene beauty.

A highlight of Wingham is the Wingham Museum, which showcases over 10,000 artefacts across 500 square meters. Visitors can delve into local history, including the infamous jail cell of bushranger Jimmy Governor and
the stories of Isabella Mary Kelly, the inspiration for Di Morrissey’s The Valley. Friendly volunteers are on hand to guide you through the region’s rich narratives.
